INTRODUCTION
Lying on the southern shores of Turkeys Mediterranean coast
Belek is located approximately 30 km east of the regions main resort
of Antalya, which itself is served by flights from most major U.K
airports.
The Belek coast enjoys over
300 days of sunshine yearly and with 8 great golf courses open and
more on the way this highly regarded area is worthy of serious consideration
for those looking for a new quality golf holiday destination.
There is a great choice of
mostly 4 and 5 star hotels offering terrific value for money with
half or full board included in their very reasonable accommodation
rates.
Apart from the outstanding
golf the area also has superb beaches, museums and a wonderful collection
of archaeological sites dating back thousands of years, all of which
combine to make this area the popular repeat destination it has
now become with U.K golfers.
The close proximity of the
hotels and golf courses and inexpensive cost of transfers on offer
mean that car hire is usually not a necessity for your Belek golf
holiday.

Golf Club is part of the Sirene Golf Hotel complex and offers two
excellent courses. The Pasha will test the skills of high and low
handicappers alike with a combination of different challenges. Tricky
doglegs, cleverly placed bunkers and undulating greens will ensure
that the golfer must think over each shot carefully. The Sultan opened
at the end of 2003 and European Golf Design and David Jones have spared
nothing to maintain the competitive level of the course, while at
the same time blending it seamlessly into the forest environment. |

Old Course at the Gloria Golf Resort is situated in the pine forest
of Belek, at the foot of the Taurus Mountains and has hosted the Beko
European Seniors Golf Tournament on three occasions since its opening
in 1997. It is a tree-lined, challenging golf course with 7 lakes
and a total of 63 bunkers, and is a good test of golf for both low
and high handicap players. The New Gloria course opened in late 2005
is an undulating tree-lined parkland layout with some challenging
and unforgettable golf holes. Four large lakes and 67 bunkers to negotiate
will help concentrate the mind on this great addition to the choice
of courses the area has to offer. |

by Ryder Cup player David Feherty and seniors tour player David Jones
the National Golf Club is the oldest established course in the Belek
area. Between them they have created a masterpiece, which starts with
a demanding front nine and ends with a memorable 18th in front of
the elegant clubhouse. Carved through a forest of eucalyptus and pine
trees with the backdrop of the snow-capped Taurus Mountains and an
abundance of natural lakes, the National has been described as Woburn
with sunshine. An interesting par 3 nine hole executive course is
also on site if you are looking for less challenging golf. |

| The superb 27
holes Hawtree designed Tat International layout lies between the Mediterranean
Sea and the Acisu River with spectacular views of the Taurus Mountains
as the backdrop. Regarded as the championship eighteen, the "International"
nine and the "Belek" (links) nine offer a great variation
of holes as they wind their way through the umbrella pines and along
the sandy shoreline. The picturesque "Tat" nine whilst probably
the less demanding of the three nines is no less enjoyable. Four different
sets of tees make it possible for every golfer to enjoy Tat beach
and the relatively flat terrain is easily walkable. |

| Very
popular with golfers returning to the area, the Nobilis Golf Resort
has been created within the natural pine forest bordering the Acisu
River, which then flows through Belek and out into the Mediterranean.
The result is a championship golf course with creeping bent grass
greens and Bermuda, fairways that provide some of the finest playing
surfaces you are likely to find. The picturesque views throughout
this course highlight the natural beauty of the setting while providing
a challenge and fair test of golf for all levels of player. |
The latest addition
to the growing number of quality golf courses in the Belek area is
the 27-hole Faldo-designed layout at the 5* Cornelia Deluxe Resort.
A broad, sandy dune ridge running through the centre of the course
provides elevated tees and greens. This is 27 holes of great golf
that will appeal to golfers of all standards. |
