The Pinehurst area recently voted one of the top 3 best golf holiday destinations in the world along with Pebble Beach and St Andrews is one of America's favourite golfing areas. |
|
Being situated within 1 ½ hours drive of Raleigh Durham and 2 hours from Myrtle Beach, Pinehurst is an ideal location for a two-centre holiday for the discerning British golfer.
Imagine
a hearty breakfast of smoked ham, scrambled eggs, grits and fries followed by a leisurely drive through a tunnel of long leaf pines to a gated golf community. Golf on a beautifully manicured course designed by Nicklaus or Palmer. Lunch on the porch of a restored Southern Inn followed by a stroll through scores of quaint shops.
Laughter and good conversation with friends in a Scottish style tavern, and a home cooked dinner at one of numerous exquisite Pinehurst area restaurants. The smell of magnolia blooms and the creak of a wicker rocking chair
It really does not get better than this.

| Climate |
|
With only a brief winter in December/January the Pinehurst area is pretty much an all year round golfing destination. Probably the best months to golf (and most expensive) are April, May, September and October.
Better value are March, June and, especially, November when the fall colours match anything New England can offer. June is great value before the high summer temperatures kick in.
