Accommodation and Courses in Monterey
Very few holiday destinations in the USA can compete with the considerable charms of Monterey County, and when you consider that 3 or 4 of the best golf courses in the whole of the country are within a well hit drive, for the avid golfer this really is Paradise. There is however, more to Monterey than Pebble Beach, Spyglass Hill and Spanish Bay etc etc for this stretch of the California coastline is renowned for its dramatic scenery, historic coastal towns and fine wines.
The city of Monterey is a pleasure to explore and a stroll along Fishermans Wharf and Cannery Row where John Steinbeck drew inspiration for his novel about life in the heyday of the sardine canning industry, before dining at one of the many superb restaurants is an ideal way to while away a few memorable hours.
Take the 17 mile drive past Pebble Beach and you come to the pretty seaside town of Carmel by the Sea followed by the breathtaking scenery of the BIG SUR.
Located around a third of the way down this picturesque coastline between San Francisco and Los Angeles, Monterey county is the ideal 3 or 4 night stopover on your tour of California.
The ideal months for golfers visiting the Monterey area would be from April through October however if you intend playing Pebble Beach GC it is advisable to book up at least 9 months in advance and also check for dates when the course is unavaliable due to tournaments.
Please remember we can arrange your accommodation at most destinations in a wide variety of hotels and resorts which are far to many to feature on this web-site.
