Estrella Mountain Ranch (££):
Just 30 minutes from downtown Phoenix the Estrella Mountain Golf Course offers challenging play in the midst of breathtaking beauty. Set along the washes and hillsides of the Sierra Estrella Mountains the elevation changes and views are absolutely stunning.
Eagle Mountain (££):
Nestled in the ravines of the Mcdowell Mountains the Eagle Mountain Course beckons those golfers who desire an outstanding golf experience. At harmony with nature as the course winds through natural box canyons, rolling hills and lush desert valleys, Eagle Mountain is a challenging yet fair test of golf.
Gold Canyon - Dinosaur (££):
Probably Eagle Golf Tours clients' favourite Scottsdale course this picturesque, spectacular layout wraps itself around the foothills of the Superstition Mountains. The views from the course are stunning and the elevation changes from tee to green will literally take your breath away.
Longbow Golf Club (£):
Located in the shadow of the beautiful Red Mountains amid the desert landscape sits Longbow GC. This 6700-yard player friendly course with dramatic scenery and breathtaking mountain views is both challenging and intriguing as well as fair.
Dove Valley Ranch Golf Club (£):
Unlike many of Arizona's "target" golf courses this player friendly course in the high Sonoran Desert allows the golfer to recover without penalty that wayward shot. With an abundance of sand and water and the spectacular vistas, Dove Valley Ranch is a challenging and enjoyable course for all standards of golfer.
Legend Trail (£££):
One of Troon Golf's outstanding Arizona facilities, Legend Trail winds through the Sonoran Desert with breathtaking views of Pinnacle Peak. Course designer Rees Jones has done a fantastic job of balancing the layout to create a fair test for less experienced players while also providing a formidable challenge for the more accomplished player. A wonderful clubhouse houses one of American's top 100 golf shops along with the Trails End Grill, which serves their own famous Breakfast Burrito.
Grayhawk (££££):
North of Scottsdale lies this 36-hole complex of outstanding golf. The Raptor is 18 holes by Tom Fazio with Crenshaw Bent-grass greens and one of the finest desert layouts in the valley.
Sunridge Canyon (£££):
Located in Fountain Hills, ½ mile north of Eagle Mountain, is this picturesque desert course. Sunridge features Penncross bent-grass greens, five sets of tees, elevated tee boxes, mounded fairways, and a 75-foot natural rock formation which forms the canyon surrounding this courses. Golf Magazine ranked Sunridge Canyon # 42 in the country for the "Top 100 You Can Play" in May of 1996.
Sedona (£££):
With the looming red sandstone cliffs for a backdrop this challenging layout spreads through a cedar strewn valley between two prominent mesas. Dramatic elevation changes make this course a challenging thrill and must play for golfers visiting Arizona.
Tucson - Del Largo Golf Club (££):
Del Lago Golf Club is Tucson's newest and brightest star, A little different from many desert courses, Del Lago plays like more of a combination of links and desert golf, featuring wide sweeping fairways that drift off into the surrounding valleys and arroyos, leading you to oversized greens that often require a traditional bump and run shot. The golf course will require every club in the golfer's bag and a good supply of nerves on slick, undulating greens.
